So I am reading a magazine today. And all I read about is diets, pills, 'slimming down', celebrity health scares and eating disorder accusations.
And then I see this;
Anorexia is like alcoholism - it's never really out of your system.' - Andrew Morton
Thanks.
Speak the truth,
Speak your dreams
Speak the unknown,
Speak what is to be seen.
Discover what does lie within,
All your troubles,
Your desires
Now time has come in agony
To quench thirst,
Burning fires.
A battlefield never played on,
A tumbling winter sun
Feel the pain,
Let it weep
A journey has begun.
A station never once turned on,
Before this day at hand
Is trying hard
With all it's might,
To play what's on demand.
Open up
While closing down,
Let yourself be free
To show the world
Your true inner passions,
Of who you want to be.
It may always be there, in the back of your mind, but that's not to say it will be part of your every day life in the future.
ReplyDeleteFor a recovered Anorexic, Anorexia is like a memory - it's there, but only occasionally, when we pass it a thought. It will not always be the sole thing in your life, because you will grow from it, you will learn to resist it, and you will begin flourishing with a life that is free from disordered thoughts, feelings and actions.
You are in the depths of it at the moment, but you aren't drowning. We won't let you drown. You're stronger than you give yourself credit for - all you need is to kick a little, and the rest will follow.
One day at a time. And one day, you won't pass a second thought to Anorexia.
